The Red Pine, commonly known as the Norwegian Pine, is a tall evergreen conifer with a tall and conical crown. Because of its high growth rate and lovely look, it is a popular tree for reforestation and landscaping. Red Pine needles are long and thin, growing in two-needle bundles. The tree has oval-shaped cones approximately 2 inches long. Red Pine enjoys full sun and well-drained soil, and once established, it requires little care. It can reach a height of 80 feet and a width of 30 feet. The robust Red Pine tree is often utilized for windbreaks, privacy screens, and lumber production.
